My thirst for adventure began when I started mountain climbing with my family as a child. This passion grew as I completed my bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. I first discovered hostelling when I enrolled onto the NCS programme and was instantly enthusiastic about the entire concept.

An equal love of mine is helping vulnerable individuals, particularly young people. I have been taking gifts to the children in my local hospital at Christmas and Halloween annually, from 2015 to present. I also volunteered in Ghana in 2019, where I worked as part of a team of individuals who build libraries and a STEM centre for the children there.

I am currently studying at Newcastle University and intend to become a secondary school teacher after I graduate. I am a dedicated and focused individual, and proud to bring these qualities to the team.

Following my positive experiences working with young people, and because of my love for the outdoors, I became a Youth Advisory Team Member. I want to use my understanding of how the pandemic has impacted the wellbeing of children and young adults to inform the future work of YHA post-pandemic.
