Our unforgettable school residentials inspire pupils to achieve extraordinary things while improving teamwork, communication, personal achievement and life skills.

Our residentials create an inclusive space for young people to thrive through hands-on experiences in breathtaking places.

We believe every child should have the same chance to discover, explore and grow. Every young person deserves to know what it is like to dip their toes in the sea for the first time, watch the sun set over the city skyline and wander through lush green meadows. That’s why we’re committed to providing bursary support for eligible schools through our support for schools.

Eligibility criteria

Primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, schools offering alternative provision and colleges can apply for our bursaries.

You may be eligible for a bursary if either:

  • your school or college is based in area of high social deprivation
  • your school or college has high numbers (upwards of 30%) of children receiving pupil premium or free school meals

We transform young lives forever

You’re never far away from YHA. We offer schools a wide range of outdoor learning opportunities across England and Wales. Engage your students with real, hands-on experiences and extraordinary learning opportunities in inspiring locations. Find out more about YHA school trips.

Taking part in a residential visit is the highlight of our pupils’ time at primary school. Twenty or so years since we began visiting YHA Ironbridge Coalport, former pupils still tell me how much they learnt and how much they enjoyed it. It’s so important that every child gets to take part regardless of background, finances and previous experience. The social skills, problem solving and personal development opportunities that such trips offer are huge. We’re so grateful to YHA for raising funds and assisting with costs to ensure that no child misses out.
