Emma leads Corporate Social Responsibility at Global, the media and entertainment group, which encompasses the UK’s largest commercial radio company, including youth brand, Capital. As part of this brief she runs the in-house charity, Make Some Noise, which is a grantmaker supporting projects that work with disadvantaged children and young people. Prior to that she worked at the BBC, initially as Marketing and Fundraising Director for BBC Children in Need, and then in other marketing and strategy roles. Emma began her career in the travel sector and spent 15 years in marketing and commercial positions at Thomson Holidays, British Airways and Tourism Australia.
Emma is also a secondary school governor where she has responsibility for Safeguarding and sits on the Teaching and Learning Committee.
Having grown up on a farm, Emma loves the countryside and being outdoors. She has been lucky enough to travel extensively, and passionately endorses YHA’s belief that ‘where you go changes who you become’. She became a Trustee in 2019.
