Our Board of Trustees appoints a Chief Executive who, together with the Executive and Senior Leadership Team, is responsible for delivering YHA’s strategy and business plan. Their role is to achieve our charitable purpose and bring our vision to life: Everyone has access to adventure — for the first time and a lifetime.
Meet the YHA Executives
James Blake
Chief Executive, YHA (England & Wales)
James brings a wealth of experience to YHA, including overseeing complex organisations balancing commercial imperative and public benefit. He has been Chief Executive of YHA since 2017, joining from St Albans Council where he was CEO from 2012 to 2017.
He was previously a senior civil servant in government, specialising in policy on local government, regeneration and social inclusion.
