About Julie

An experienced qualified professional with over 20 years senior strategic and financial management experience in a diverse range of organisations from within the charity and housing sectors to manufacturing businesses and other public sector bodies. Julie joined YHA back in 2017 as the Head of Finance, taking on the role of Associate Director of Finance in March 2020 and then more recently taking over the reigns as Finance Director in November 2021.

Julie leads on the development and delivery of; the financial strategy, accounting and reporting in support of the YHA Ten Year Strategy, Adventure: For the First Time and a Lifetime. A key part of this is to ensure YHA remains on a sound financial footing with sufficient funds available to invest in YHA’s people, the 10-year Strategy, the hostel network and also to meet the challenges and opportunities that the future may bring.
