Situated just outside the city centre of Chester, YHA Chester Trafford Hall was originally built in 1756 and combines the grandeur of a glorious Georgian house with modern, sustainable facilities.
Guests can make full use of shared spaces in the hall, including a spacious lounge, dining area and fun games room. There is also a drying room and kitchenette for basic food preparation and washing up, as well as meeting rooms upstairs.
Bedrooms are available in our eco-friendly chalet accommodation, based near the hall and powered by renewable energy. All private and dorm rooms are en-suite. There are also 14 acres of organic grounds complete with nature walks and landscaped gardens to explore.
This hostel is perfectly located for exploring the many attractions of rural Cheshire or getting to know the historic walled city of Chester. If shopping's your thing, the hostel is just a short distance from designer outlet Cheshire Oaks. After a busy day of exploring, chill out with a meal in our café or grab a drink at our licensed bar.

This glorious Georgian house has 14 acres of grounds complete with nature walks and landscaped gardens to explore.
Eco-friendly chalet bedrooms, powered by renewable energy, are en-suite and located near the hall. The hostel is just outside Chester city centre, providing handy access to city adventures. We have group catering options to enjoy after a day of exploring.
Most of our bedrooms are dormitory style rooms with bunk beds. We always try to allocate bedrooms close together and will never ask your group to share bedrooms with anyone not in your group.
Upgrades are available for sole use of an area, floor or the entire place.
Enjoy shared spaces including a lounge, dining area, drying room and kitchenette. Upstairs, we have meeting rooms with conference facilities – perfect for revision breaks. There is a games room which offers entertainment with a pool table and table-top football.
With tasty breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals, groups are sure to find something delicious to eat at YHA Chester Trafford Hall (see sample menu).
Meal plans range from bed and breakfast up to full-board catering. Vegetarian options are available and we aim to cater for any special dietary requests.

Food and drink: Breakfast is served to guests from 07:30 – 09:00 daily. Meals are also available from 17:00 - 21:00
Licensed bar: This hostel has a licensed bar offering a range of alcohol and soft drinks. It is not possible for guests to bring their own alcohol, except when hiring the The Stables through YHA Exclusive Hire.
Self-catering: Guests have access to a kitchenette with basic food preparation and washing up facilities. This includes a microwave but no oven or hob.
Parking: There is parking at the hostel.
WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.
Dogs: Pets are not permitted at YHA Chester Trafford Hall, except when hiring The Stables through YHA Exclusive Hire. Assistance dogs are welcome - please notify us at the time of booking.
