If you want to explore North Wales, YHA Conwy is the ideal accommodation for you. This Welsh hostel is perfectly located for anyone wanting to explore the coastal resort Llandudno or an activity break in Snowdonia.
Just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Conwy, this modern youth hostel is on a hill just outside the historic walls, and enjoys panoramic views of Conwy’s medieval castle, the mountains, and the valley all in sight.
With Conwy Castle on one side and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park on the other, YHA Conwy is perfect for exploring the best that North Wales has to offer. We pride ourselves on offering a flexible option for schools and groups whatever the age and whatever the objective of your stay.
Ideal for groups wanting to lead their own trip, the hostel is only a short walk from the historic town of Conwy, complete with its Edwardian castle, city walls and medieval Aberconwy House. Further afield Eryri (Snowdonia) is a short hop away and makes a popular location for an amazing field study. Groups on self-led residentials can also add half or full-day bolt-on activities through YHA or our partners Safe and Sound. It’s the ideal way to fill free time or add a little more adventure into your visit.
Most of our bedrooms are dormitory style rooms with bunk beds. We always try to allocate bedrooms close together and will never ask your group to share bedrooms with anyone not in your group.
Upgrades are available for sole use of an area, floor or the entire place.
As well as panoramic views of Conwy, we provide group catering, en-suite bedrooms, free WiFi, a games room and a meeting room plus outdoor space.
With tasty breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals, groups are sure to find something delicious to eat at YHA Conwy (see sample menu).
Meal plans range from bed and breakfast up to full-board catering. Vegetarian options are available and we aim to cater for any special dietary requests.
Parking is available at the hostel.
Looking to fill some free time? Our bolt-on activities can easily be added to your stay.

Manager recommends: Conwy town walls – walking along the walls towards the harbour, gives you an amazing perspective of the walled town. Even better – it's free! Or enjoy the amazing flavours of Parisella’s award winning ice cream, made right here in Conwy. Visit the kiosk at Conwy Quay and plump for signature sensations such as Amaretto & Black Cherry or Blue Banana. Take your pick of the five fantastic fish & chip shops. The Albion Ale House on Uppergate Street is an absolute gem. Recalling a simpler time, the traditional 1920s public house offers no music, no television and no meals – just fantastic beer and bar snacks in a unique setting.
