Situated on the southern slopes of Swaledale, YHA Grinton Lodge is surrounded by stunning scenery and exceptional views of the Yorkshire Dales, and just a 10-minute walk from the village of Grinton.
For walking holidays there are plenty of routes throughout the Yorkshire Dales National Park for walkers of varying abilities to enjoy. Plus, for anyone doing the Coast to Coast walk, YHA Grinton Lodge makes for a well-deserved stop-off point. If you’re on your mountain bike, set off from the youth hostel and choose a path to suit you.
Reception opening hours: From 07:30 - 10:00 and 17:00 - 22:00.
Food and drink: Breakfast is served to guests daily from 07:30 – 09:00. Meals are also available from 17:00 – 20:00.
Self-catering: Guests have access to a self-catering kitchen.
Parking: There is free parking at the hostel.
WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.
Dogs: Pets are not permitted at YHA Grinton Lodge, except in our Camping & Cabins accommodation. Assistance dogs are welcome - please notify us at the time of booking.

This former hunting lodge was built in 1817 and remained in private hands until after World War II when it was sold to YHA and has been used as a youth hostel ever since. The castle-esque building is impressive in structure and design and is built around a central courtyard.
Manager recommends: For a more relaxed walking holiday, take a beautiful walk along the river and meander back through the picture postcard village of Reeth.
