Places to stay in Devon

Devon's location on the western-most part of England makes it a fantastic family holiday destination, boasting some of the warmest weather and most varied landscapes in the UK. It contains Dartmoor National Park and Exmoor National Park, both of which are bursting with wildlife, beautifully managed by local conservation efforts with a network of footpaths for days of exploration.

Five Free Things To Do In Devon

Discover the marine life living in the craggy Devon shoreline - Ilfracombe Tunnel Beach and Instow beach have safe, shallow rockpools which house crabs, anemones and even shrimp.

The Devon countryside has a wealth of cycle paths and bridleways; try the gentle Tarka Trail, which starts at Instow and takes you past the sand dunes and a number of picnic spots.

Braunton Burrows
The Braunton Burrows Biosphere Reserve is the largest sand dune system in the UK, and features over 400 plants species. Discover colourful flowers and various birds and animals on the UK's biggest beach!

Victora Park, Bideford
Victoria Park is unique in that is has an open-air swimming pool, as well as extensive playgrounds and a café, for if you need to duck out of the sun for an ice cream!

An amazing activity for all kids, crabbing requires nothing but a line, some bait and a little patience. Head to Appledore, where you'll find tackle shops and a great spot by the harbour, to see what you can catch.
