Places to stay in Brighton

Brighton is a hugely popular city with tourists, with its large pebble beach, beautiful architecture, Victorian Pier and wide range of activities complemented by excellent restaurants and amenities. The city itself sits in the beautiful district of Hove, which gradually fades into the rolling Sussex hills and the South Downs National Park.

Take a coastal walk, explore the local museums and attractions, or do something exciting such as climbing or windsurfing - Brighton has more than enough to keep families occupied.

Five Free Things To Do In Brighton

Play in the Park
Brighton and Hove is home to 98 different parks and green spaces, so whether you want a relaxing picnic, some room for ball games or to simply recharge after an afternoon's activities, you're sure to find a nice spot.

Hit the beach
Sandcastles may not be possible on Brighton's pebble beach, but paddling in the surf and enjoying the sun is still a great way to spend a summer's afternoon.

Not all museums are stuffy and boring for kids, and the Booth Museum of Natural History, with over half a million specimens and interactive exhibits, is one which is sure to fascinate.

Walk the coast
The Undercliff Walk from Brighton Marina to Saltdean is a hugely popular trail, offering stunning scenery and the chance for kids to look for fossils and sights of historical interest.

Have a paddle
Many of the city's parks have play areas and paddling pools - ideal for young children who want to make a splash but are too young for the sea.
