Bed in a shared room
Dorms are not currently available.
Dorm rooms have multiple beds, are typically more affordable than private rooms, and shared with other people who may not be travelling together. A typical shared room includes bunk beds, a reading light and a storage cupboard for each guest, secured by a padlock if required.
Children aged between 12 and 15 can stay in dorm rooms as long as an adult of the same gender accompanies them.
Some dorms may be en-suites, meaning that they have a bathroom in the room that you would be sharing with the other people in your dorm.
Don't fancy sharing a room? Private rooms typically include a storage cupboard for each bed, secured by a padlock if required, a reading light and a wash hand basin. Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room.
Visiting Dartmoor on a budget? Then check out YHA Okehampton's woodland camping area. It is suitable for up to 20 tents and our campers are welcome to use the hostel facilities (bathrooms, self catering kitchen,games room, TV lounge, bar and cafe).
Out of activity hours, there’s a small campfire area with you can sit around in the evening toasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Feeling adventurous? During the school holidays you can book onto one of 16 different activities each week.

We allocate availability for exclusive use in blocks, typically up to 90 days in the future. If you are looking for space to stay with us on a normal shared basis, and can’t see any availability three months or more into the future, then this hostel may be being held for Exclusive Hire.

Reception hours: From 08:00 - 22:00.
Restaurant opening hours: YHA Okehampton’s restaurant is open to the public from Monday – Sunday, 07:30 - 09:00, and Friday - Saturday, 17:00 - 19:00.
Parking: There is free parking available at the hostel.
WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.
Dogs: Pets are not permitted at YHA Okehampton. Assistance dogs are welcome.

YHA School Trips
YHA Okehampton provides school trip parties with a modern hostel right on edge of beautiful Dartmoor, offering a range of adventure activities and educational programmes that are suitable for large groups. The hostel has up to 126 beds, including en -uite rooms for teachers and classroom facilities.

At YHA Okehampton we have one meeting room available for hire.
Capacity: Up to 150 delegates depending on seating configuration.
Available Equipment: Projector, screen, PA system, speaker system
Accessibility: The meeting room is situated on the ground floor of the Okehampton Bracken Tor building.
Air conditioning: There is no air conditioning in this meeting room. There is central heating.
Volunteering with YHA is a fantastic way to have fun, learn new skills, boost your CV and travel to different places. We have a variety of different opportunities to choose from and volunteering roles to suit everyone.
The tasks are varied and in return you will meet some great people, who both work and stay in our hostels, as well as enjoying your time off discovering the local area and attractions.
