Dorm rooms have multiple beds and are shared with other people who may not be travelling together. They are usually more affordable than private rooms as you'll be booking a bed rather than the whole room.

A typical shared dorm room includes bunk beds, a reading light and a storage cupboard for each guest.

Children aged between 12 and 15 can stay in dorm rooms as long as an adult of the same gender accompanies them.

Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room. Some of our shared dorm rooms are en-suites, meaning that they have a bathroom that you would share with other guests who are also staying in the room.

Want some privacy? With a private room, you'll be booking the whole room for your stay.

Private rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus a wash hand basin.

Our camping barn is open and available for hire, with hot water, a shower and toilet. The are six beds on a mezzanine sleeping platform, accessed by a ladder, which can be arranged as two doubles and two singles or six singles.

The barn is accessed on foot from the car park, so bring your boots and a torch as the 3-minute walk takes you through our Magic Wood and over a stream by the Waterwheel Bridge. Car parking is available in the main car park.

The barn has been renovated using recycled materials with timber from our own woodlands (a mix of oak, ash and sycamore). Our cosy interior has antique leather armchairs and what is possibly the world's only ‘rocking stool’. There is a big picnic bench outside for sunny days and peaceful nights. There is no WiFi and little phone signal but there are wonderful starlit skies, wild flowers, badgers, birds and bats for entertainment.

Guests have year-round access to 4 shower and toilet shacks, where you can freshen up after a sleeping under the stars.

Like camping but with a few added extras! Our Landpods sleep up to 4 people, on two double mattresses and a single futon mattress, which doubles up as the seating area. All bedding is included, plus 15 tog duvets and LED lighting.

Landpods don't have heating, so are more suited to the those who like a traditional camping experience. Even in the colder months, it’s nothing a couple of warm, cosy blankets can’t fix! There is a bench and BBQ firepit outside, so make the most of the great outdoors and dine al fresco.

Guests have full access to the hostel's facilities, including the self-catering kitchen and bathrooms - so you can cook delicious meals, or freshen up after your night sleeping under the stars.

You can hire the Mews building - set in the grounds of YHA Castleton Losehill Hall - and, with sole use of the property, come and go as you please. This beautifully cobbled property is the perfect base for discovering the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
