Set within 60 acres of beautiful grounds within the heart of the Peak District, YHA Ravenstor sits high above the River Wye between Bakewell and Buxton. Perfect for a cheap family holiday, this country retreat offers great opportunities for exploring the majesty of the great outdoors, with plenty of walking routes, including the Monsal Trail, easily accessible from the hostel.
With a cosy lounge, a spacious dining room and plenty of other excellent facilities, this National Trust country house is ideal for visits to the Derbyshire Dales.
Dorms are not currently available.
YHA Ravenstor has 71 beds with both dorm beds and private rooms available. Our lounge has a feature fireplace which is great for cosying up next to in the winter months, following a day of outdoor adventuring in the Peak District - you can also hang up your wet clothes and muddy boots in our drying room.
Please note that the hostel is only open to families and individuals at weekends and during school holidays.
This hostel is occasionally made available for hire on an exclusive basis. This means that you can have the place to yourself and choose how many of your friends, family, club mates, etc., join you. We allocate availability for exclusive use in blocks, typically up to 90 days in the future. If you are looking for space to stay with us on a normal shared basis, and can’t see any availability three months or more into the future, then this hostel may be being held for Exclusive Hire. YHA Ravenstor provides the opportunity to combine action and adventure activities with educational programmes. The hostel has a large classroom and a separate lounge to provide a relaxing space for the teachers. Delicious meals are available, and there is space for up to 71 people.

Take a walk through Cheedale following the River Wye. Accessed from the Monsal Trail, the path takes you through stunning limestone gorges carved out by the river. Stepping stones in the river allow walkers to bypass otherwise impassable cliff faces. A real mini adventure!
