Just a stone’s throw from a well-renowned, beautiful Blue Flag beach, YHA Broad Haven is a super spot for seaside family breaks. The hostel is dominated by its beach-side location, with a nautical theme running throughout the building.
Explore the Pembrokeshire coastal path from the hostel’s front door, or at low tide, walk the half mile over the sand to Little Haven with its quaint fishermen’s cottages and quayside. If you're feeling peckish, why not enjoy some food with a stunning sea view at our Haven's Beach Café?
This beautiful location has on-site activities and a Blue Flag beach on the doorstep – perfect for an educational or activity break on the Pembrokeshire coast. Whether your group is eager to try scuba diving and surfing or a relaxing afternoon on the sand, YHA Broad Haven makes a great base. We offer sea views, space inside and outside to play games or socialise, plus a separate meeting room for study. The modern single-story building has free Wi-Fi to stay connected and group catering for refuelling after a day on the beach. Why not plan an exciting day of watersports like surfing, coasteering or sea kayaking for your group?
Pembrokeshire offers some fantastic attractions for groups – school trips could spend a day climbing the walls at Pembroke Castle, or having fun at Oakwood Theme Park. Or how about spending a day animal-watching at Folly Farm, the Pembrokeshire Islands, or Manor House Wildlife Park?
Most of our bedrooms are dormitory style rooms with bunk beds. We always try to allocate bedrooms close together and will never ask your group to share bedrooms with anyone not in your group.
Upgrades are available for sole use of an area, floor or the entire place.

YHA Broad Haven was built in partnership with the Countryside Commission (now the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park Authority) in 1980 to be used as a hostel. They had an information centre next door which is now our field study centre for visiting groups. This hostel is situated in the Pembrokeshire National Park, which is the only coastal National Park in the UK.
Manager recommends: Laughing, splashing, surfing and basking in the spray on the beach at St Brides Bay, with the sun on your face - what better way to spend a family mini break or holiday!
