Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre
Learn more about the Brecon Beacons, admire the stunning views, explore one of the trails for children or set off on a walk.
And if the weather isn’t favourable, console yourself with the hostel’s roaring fire. Guests at YHA Brecon Beacons can enjoy a welcoming lounge with comfy arm chairs and tasty home-cooked meals.
Dorm rooms have multiple beds and are shared with other people who may not be travelling together. They are usually more affordable than private rooms as you'll be booking a bed rather than the whole room.
A typical shared dorm room includes bunk beds, a reading light and a storage cupboard for each guest.
Children aged between 12 and 15 can stay in dorm rooms as long as an adult of the same gender accompanies them.
Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room. None of our dorm rooms have en-suite facilities.
Want some privacy? With a private room, you'll be booking the whole room for your stay.
Private rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus a wash hand basin.
Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room.
For added privacy, relax with your family, friends or by yourself in a private en-suite room.
Private en-suite rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus shower and toilet facilities solely for the people in your room.
If you like camping, you'll love these wooden camping pods! A stay in them will includes all the fun of camping plus protection from the elements - they even have heating and lighting.
Bring all your usual camping gear, apart from sleeping bags and mats - there is a double futon bed and two single beds with bedding. Each pod also has its own individual decking area and dogs are welcome too.
Like camping but with a few added extras! Our Landpods sleep up to 4 people, on two double mattresses and a single futon mattress, which doubles up as the seating area. All bedding is included, plus duvets and LED lighting.
Landpods don't have heating, so are more suited to the those who like a traditional camping experience. Even in the colder months, it’s nothing a couple of warm, cosy blankets can’t fix! There is a bench and BBQ firepit outside, so make the most of the great outdoors and dine al fresco.
Wild camping is not currently available.
Camping is sold per person and not per pitch. During the booking process, you will need to select the number of people who you wish to camp.
Try wild camping at YHA Brecon Beacons in our woodland campsite. The area is well suited for smaller tents rather than bigger sized units.
Camping is in the woodland next to the hostel on mixed, fairly rough ground. It is perfect for those who would like a wild camping experience complete with campfires but with the added bonus of access to hot showers, running water, hot meals and cold beer.

Manager recommends: From your comfortable Brecon Beacons accommodation, a footpath leads to the glaciated crag and Nature Reserve of Cerrig y Gleisiad. A sharp climb rewards you with a view of glacial moraines and erratic rocks left by the ice. Enjoy the peace and quiet, without the crowds of Pen Y Fan, and enjoy the company of of raven, wheatear and buzzard. A great base for activity breaks in Wales.
