Our newly refurbished Youth Hostel is great for families, backpackers and couples alike, with both dorm and private rooms available, many of which are en-suite and recently revamped.

Our hostel is a visually striking building and boasts stunning architecture, complemented by a homely, comfortable interior, freshly updated for 2018. You'll find romantic balconies, carved stone pillars, an intricate wrought iron staircase and all the Roman-inspired detail synonymous this style of property, complemented by modern and inviting touches within the social spaces. The fantastic new reception/café bar lounge area is particularly inviting and comfortable.

The hostel also has a peaceful garden outside to relax in, perfect for picnics when the weather is at its best. There's also a comfortable lounge boasting leather sofas, books, board games and a brilliant view from the full-length windows. Our spacious dining room is tastefully decorated in a Georgian style and you'll find a sizeable self-catering kitchen if you wish to cook for yourself, with basic self-catering facilities available including microwaves, kettles and toasters. We offer a range of meals in our restaurant so you definitely won't go hungry here.

In fact, we have everything you need for a modern city break including laundry facilities, an extra dining room, free Wi-Fi and a drying room for muddy boots should your visit take you further afield. YHA Bath is on Bathwick Hill, with great views of the city centre. We are within walking distance of the University of Bath and the centre of Bath itself, though we are up a steep hill so do bear that in mind! Regular U1 and U18 buses travel between the railway station, city centre and university with a bus stop right by our entrance - just ask the driver for “the Youth Hostel”. All of this makes for comfortable, convenient city accommodation, perfect for a weekend away.

YHA Bath is a listed building and welcomes all types of guests. However, if you have a child under the age of 3 years or any other special requirement, please mention at the time of booking and we will try and accommodate you in the most suitable room available.

Walking & Rambling

Very close to the Avon & Kennet Canal, there is a walking track through National Trust grounds. Bath Skyline walk is at the top of the hill from the hostel and is a 6 mile circular walk - you can see right into the middle of Bath and get some great views.

The Bath Skyline is a National Trust-maintained, well-waymarked route through the hilly, green spaces above the Heritage city of Bath. There are outstanding views over the city and surrounding countryside from many places on the route, which also passes an 18th-centuary landscape garden and the impressive frontage of Sham Castle. To access the run, stand on Bathwick Hill with your back to Cleveland Walk, take the path opposite that goes between the houses, through a kissing gate and diagonally across the field. From this point follow the regular waymarkers until emerging from Cleveland Walk, back onto Bathwick Hill.

Breakfast

Start your day the YHA way with a delicious hot and cold buffet breakfast with both full English and continental options available. Breakfast is served from 7.30 - 9.00am. Breakfast is now available at 10% off - ONLY WHEN PRE-BOOKED. Simply add it to your basket at check out to save!

Lunch

Energise your outdoor adventure with a nutritious packed picnic lunch. Prepared for you on request, our delicious packed lunches include a sandwich with a selection of fillings to choose from, a chocolate bar, a bottle of still mineral water, a packet of crisps and a piece of fresh fruit.

Restaurant

YHA Bath offers high quality evening meals in its restaurant so you can relax and unwind with dinner or a drink after a busy day exploring the city. Choose from a number of delicious, customisable 12-inch pizzas. We also offer a range of light bites, tasty sides and various salads, plus a kids menu. We're open to guests as well as the public so even if you're not staying with us, drop in for a bite to eat - we serve food from 5.30 - 8.30pm.

Kids Eat Free

One free children's meal is avaialable per adult main meal from the main menu when purchased at the same time. This offer is not available on breakfast.
