Saturday 10th September 2022
Distance: 5 miles
Duration: 2.5 - 3.5 hours
Led by: Experienced BMC volunteer guides
Head north climbing gently through a wooded valley towards to Haroldston West. Approaching the hamlet, the ground levels out before continuing along quiet lanes towards the coast. Here part of the route has been surfaced enabling access for wheelchair users.
Along the stretch on coast alternate soft shales and harder millstone grit have enabled the creation of sea cliffs and coves. We'll pass an Iron Age fort at Black point which will eventually be cut off by coastal erosion. Heading south we see a monolith: the Harold stone. From here we'll slowly descend back to the beach at Broad Haven and round the corner to the hostel.
This event is part of YHA's Festival of Walking - view other social walks.
