Discovery and connection
Starting and finishing at YHA Ambleside, this lovely walk takes in Loughrigg Fell, an iconic low-level south Lakeland peak that provides stunning views across Windermere, Grasmere and Rydal Water. Having crossed the broad summit we descend along Loughrigg Terrace, pass Rydal Cave to Rydal Mount, the home of William Wordsworth, then through the parkland and back to the hostel via bustling Ambleside village.
