Health and wellbeing
We will spend around 1.5 hours walking, with time at the hostel before and after the walk exploring the mindfulness theme.
Following a short walk from the hostel, we will be guided in an exploration of Regent’s Park, so called when in the early 1800s the Prince Regent proposed turning the former hunting grounds into a pleasure garden. Our walk will include an exploration of some of these features such as the Boating Lake and Japanese Garden Island.
However, this will be a walk with a difference, inviting us to explore and discover some of the different qualities of mindfulness. When we are mindful, we can become fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, without the mind becoming overly distracted.
These qualities of mindfulness can be brought to everything we do, so before our walk we will explore some mindfulness practises in stillness and movement. We will then apply these skills to the activity of walking in nature, seeing and appreciating whatever we notice.
