Join mindfulness teacher Stuart McLeod for a guided walk starting on the outskirts of Canterbury before passing through the city’s peaceful rural fringe. We will spend around 1.5 hours walking, with time at the hostel before and after the walk exploring the mindfulness theme.
The walk is flat and mainly on well surfaced paths but includes a stretch of long grass along a field edge. No special walking shoes are needed but shoes with some grip are recommended.
This will be a walk with a difference. During our morning together we will discover some of the different qualities of mindfulness. When we are mindful, we can become fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, without the mind becoming overly distracted.
These qualities of mindfulness can be brought to everything we do, so before our walk we will explore some mindfulness practises in stillness and movement. We will then apply these skills to the activity of walking in nature, seeing and appreciating whatever we notice.
