A must for dedicated walkers! This former quarry workers' house, at the summit of Honister Pass, is in true mountain country with easy access to England’s highest peaks. Steep valleys stretch down from the mountains to Derwentwater to create a beautiful and distinctive landscape.
There’s a 400 year old working slate mine next door, home to the world famous Westmorland Green Slate. The site offers plenty of activities and adventures for guests to explore and enjoy!

Parking: The hostel car park has space for 5 or 6 cars. The nearby National Trust car park is free overnight if staying in the hostel, but pay and display during the day for non-National Trust members.
