Originally built around the middle of the last century, YHA Hathersage provides high standard accommodation and is the perfect base for those looking to discover the Peak District, one of the best walking centres in the country.

Across the entire building there is a total of nine bedrooms.

Main building
First floor

One room that sleeps up to 1 person. It includes a single bed.

One room that sleeps up to 4 people. It includes 2 sets of bunk beds.

Two rooms that sleep up to 6 people each. They include 3 sets of bunk beds.

Annex
Ground floor

One en-suite room that sleeps up to 3 people. It includes a high sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath.

One en-suite room that sleeps up to 4 people. It includes 2 sets of bunk beds.

First floor

Three rooms that sleep up to 6 people each. They include 3 sets of bunk beds.

A cot is available.


Shared spaces

Kitchen and dining

The small kitchen is located on the ground floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: kettle, microwave, oven, refrigerator, stove, toaster.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: bin bags, cloths, paper towels, sponges, washing up liquid.

Located on the ground floor, the dining room seats up to 28 people across 7 tables.

A highchair is available.

Lounge

The lounge is located on the ground floor and seats up to 9 people. There are 3 comfy sofas and a coffee table. You can relax after a day of exploring by watching a film on the TV or trying out one of the board games.

Bathrooms

Across the entire building there is a total of six bathrooms.

Showers: 6

Toilet paper is provided and hand soap is available next to all sinks.

Outdoors

Outside is a small garden. The garden is not enclosed.

Guests have full access to the garden.

Dogs
Hire YHA Hathersage and bring your dogs! Add a dog to your booking at the checkout and bring your four-legged friend along with you. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, on the furniture or in the kitchen, and must be kept on a lead in the grounds.

Hostel need to know

Reception opening hours: From 07:30 - 10:00 and 17:00 - 22:00.

Food and drink: Breakfast is served to guests daily from 07:30 – 09:00.

Self-catering: Guests have access to a self-catering kitchen.

Parking: Parking is situated in between the main house and annexe. There is space for six cars. There is limited on-street parking near the hostel and there is a public car park approximately 10-minute walk from the hostel on Oddfellows Road (opposite the outdoor swimming pool).

WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.

Dogs: Pets are not permitted at YHA Hathersage, except when hiring the whole hostel through YHA Exclusive Hire. Assistance dogs are welcome - please notify us at the time of booking.

History

YHA Hathersage is a Gothic Victorian stone built house with stables to the rear. The stables are now part of the hostel. The hostel opened as a YHA in 1970.
