Accommodation at YHA Hartington Hall

Bed in a shared room

Dorm rooms have multiple beds and are shared with other people who may not be travelling together. They are usually more affordable than private rooms as you'll be booking a bed rather than the whole room.

A typical shared dorm room includes bunk beds, a reading light and a storage cupboard for each guest.

Children aged between 12 and 15 can stay in dorm rooms as long as an adult of the same gender accompanies them.

Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room. None of our dorm rooms have en-suite facilities.

Private rooms

Want some privacy? With a private room, you'll be booking the whole room for your stay.

Private rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus a wash hand basin.

Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room.

Private en-suite rooms

For added privacy, relax with your family, friends or by yourself in a private en-suite room.

Private en-suite rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus shower and toilet facilities solely for the people in your room.

Premium room - The Roost

If you're looking for a romantic weekend away, our self-contained premium suite could be just what you're looking for.

Set away from the hostel, The Roost has its own living area, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom - the perfect space for two!

Landpods

Like camping but with a few added extras! Our Landpods sleep up to 4 people, on two double mattresses and a single futon mattress, which doubles up as the seating area. All bedding is included, plus duvets and LED lighting.

Landpods don't have heating, so are more suited to the those who like a traditional camping experience. Even in the colder months, it’s nothing a couple of warm, cosy blankets can’t fix! There is a bench and BBQ firepit outside, so make the most of the great outdoors and dine al fresco.

Premium bell tents

Our spacious bell tents are fully kitted out with a double bed and three single futons and can sleep up to five people with all bedding included.

There is eco-friendly solar lighting and comfy bean bags for you to chill out on during the day, plus a coffee table and rugs. Premium bell tents also have the addition of a woodburner to keep you cosy.

There are two premium bell tents at YHA Hartington Hall, available to book for stays from May to September. Guests have full use of the hostel's facilities including the self-catering kitchen, plus toilets and showers.

History

YHA Hartington Hall is a 17th century manor house situated in the beautiful Peak District. This lovely Jacobean building was constructed in 1611 and has lots of beautiful period features! Want to stay over in a real piece of English heritage? YHA Hartington Hall feels every bit as grand as a stately home - in fact we haven't changed that much since we opened in 1934. The hostel boasts lots of fascinating period features like stained glass, oak panelled rooms and eerie filled-in stone windows.

You can forget the bright and bold decor of many city hostels; Hartington has a historical ambience that's matured over hundreds of years. Bonnie Prince Charlie may have stayed here during the Jacobite rising of 1745, and we recently welcomed 77 Bombay Street for a stay ahead of their Seven Mountains Tour.

Meet the team

If you're looking for accommodation near to Alton Towers, we're just a short drive away. The hostel is popular for walking holidays in the White Peak or activity breaks in the stunning Peak District countryside.
