Skills and confidence
This walk takes us from YHA Edale Activity Centre onto the Kinder Scout plateau via The Nab and Ringing Roger. It’s a beautiful route offering some amazing views from above the Edale valley and is the perfect place to learn valuable hill skills and become a more confident hillwalker.
The level of difficulty is moderate and the walk involves an elevation of around 1,080ft (330m). We will be moving at a slow and steady pace, but some of the terrain is rocky and uneven so sure-footedness is required. There are also some ascents and descents that are steep in places. The exact route will depend on the weather conditions on the day and we may be forced to choose a lower-level route.
The social walk is designed to help you learn how to plan a safe route; the basics of navigating with map and compass; understand the weather; move confidently over varied terrain; and choose the right gear. The full day will begin with indoor theory in the morning at YHA Edale Activity Centre, followed by outdoor consolidation.
Bookings open shortly, please check again soon.
