Discovery and connection
Join us for a thought-provoking walk along Hadrian’s Wall as we explore the hidden and often overlooked stories embedded in our rural landscapes. Starting from YHA The Sill we will follow the iconic Hadrian’s Wall Path and along the route we’ll reflect on the diverse peoples who have shaped this landscape – from Roman auxiliaries/legions of African and Middle Eastern descent to more recent histories of migration and settlement. Through walking and conversation, we’ll uncover how race, history and nature intersect in places often assumed to be monocultural.
This circular walk includes undulating terrain with some steep sections and rough paths, as well as 950ft (289m) of ascent. Please bring appropriate footwear, weatherproof clothing, water and lunch or snacks.
