Discovery and connection
This varied and rewarding walk starts and finishes at YHA The Sill and follows Hadrian’s Wall eastward past iconic landmarks, including the famous Sycamore Gap, to the well-preserved Roman remains at Housesteads Fort. There are dramatic views of rugged crags and sweeping moorland as the walk traces the Wall’s undulating path. From Housesteads, we loop back via the Pennine Way and a quieter path north of the Wall, offering a different perspective of Northumberland’s quiet countryside.
