Discovery and connection
Starting and finishing at YHA Youlgreave, this is a super White Peak walk that begins alongside the River Bradford as far as Alport, before exploring Lathkill Dale and the surrounding countryside. Lathkill Dale is known for its range of wildflowers, butterflies and ancient woodland, as well as birds of prey, dippers, woodpeckers and water voles. If you've never experienced the Peak District dales, this is not to be missed. Total ascent on this walk is 740ft (225m) with one sharp ascent. Please wear footwear with good grip as limestone is particularly slippery when wet.
