Parking: There are limited parking bays outside the hostel which are £2.40 per 2 hours and are free from 6.30pm – 8am daily. There are other car parks close by- charges apply.
Wi-Fi: Free wi-fi is available throughout the hostel, including social spaces and bedrooms.

Newcastle Gaol was built as a gaol and house of correction, designed by the famous Newcastle architect John Dobson on the site of YHA Newcastle Central. In 1925 the prison closed with the prisoners transferred to Durham.
Telephone House, the city's telephone exchange, was built in its place in 1932, which later became YHA Newcastle Central.
