Overlooking the River Greta and Fitz Park, with far reaching views to Latrigg and Skiddaw, YHA Keswick is a stunning, recently refurbished Lakeland hostel. The hostel also features a brand new Riverside Bar and Restaurant ,serving a varied menu of great food and drink.
Less than five minutes' walk to the amenities of this busy tourist town, YHA Keswick is ideally placed for days out in the North Lakes Fells. For cycling, the hostel is perfectly placed on long distance routes including the the Coast 2 Coast.
Discover one of the Lake District’s most popular towns – YHA Keswick sits just a few minutes from the centre and all its amenities and attractions. Not only are you near Keswick Museum and the famous Theatre by the Lake, but our hostel is surrounded by thrilling outdoor adventures.
Groups can cycle the Coast 2 Coast route, walk up mighty Skiddaw, or visit our neighbouring leisure centre for an indoor pool and climbing wall. Walking parties will love our location; there’s excellent access to the North Lakes Fells, or you could sail across Derwentwater to climb Catbells.
Most of our bedrooms are dormitory style rooms with bunk beds. We always try to allocate bedrooms close together and will never ask your group to share bedrooms with anyone not in your group.
Upgrades are available for sole use of an area, floor or the entire place.
With plenty of space for socialising and studying, groups can make themselves at home. You’ll find handy free Wi-Fi at the hostel too.
With tasty breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals, groups are sure to find something delicious to eat at YHA Keswick (see sample menu).
Meal plans range from bed and breakfast up to full-board catering. Vegetarian options are available and we aim to cater for any special dietary requests.
There is only limited parking available on Station Road, however, there is free parking 400m away on Brundholme Road.
Looking to fill some free time? Our bolt-on activities can easily be added to your stay. Whether you get adventurous with abseiling or make a splash with stream scramble, there are some great activities to try.

This accreditation means that this hostel has externally audited risk assessments, verified insurance provision, quality checked safety logs and delivery observed by national reviewers.
Reception opening hours: From 07:30 - 22:00.
Food and drink: Breakfast is served to guests from 07:30 – 09:00 on weekdays and 07:30 – 10:00 at weekends. Meals are also available from 10:00 – 21:00.
Licensed bar: This hostel has a licensed bar offering a range of alcohol and soft drinks. It is not possible for guests to bring their own alcohol.
Self-catering: Guests have access to a self-catering kitchen.
Café opening hours: Riverside Café & Bar is open to the public from 11:00 - 20:30, Monday to Sunday.
Parking: There is only limited parking available on Station Road, however, there is free parking 400m away on Brundholme Road.
WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.
Dogs: Pets are not permitted at YHA Keswick. Assistance dogs are welcome - please notify us at the time of booking.

Manager recommends: There’s great choice for walking holidays here in the Northern Lakes. Or try climbing Skiddaw, one of the highest mountains in the Lake District, which dominates the view across Fitz Park. Keswick is an excellent centre for all kinds of outdoor activity breaks including water sports, hiking holidays and cycling holidays.
