Discovery and connection
York was founded by the Romans in 71AD and over the centuries its inhabitants have shared many diverse religious beliefs – from pagan worship of deities to the Anglo Saxon conversion to Christianity and Jewish struggles at Clifford's Tower, as well as later Reformation tragedy and of course the building of the magnificent York Minster. On this journey something of all these historical ages of life in the City will be covered, their beliefs, sufferings and joys. And traditional folk and sacred songs will be sung to bring this history alive.
