Mountain biking around the Eden Project

Mountain biking

Overview

The newly opened Lanhydrock Bike Hub boasts three graded mountain bikes plus a skills area. Bike hire and a café are available.

Cardinham Woods, a mixed wood forest maintained by the forestry commission, has a 12km moderate mountain bike trail with two optional difficult sections which weaves through the woods. There is also an easy trail for walkers and cyclists which follows the river along the bottom of the valley. Café and bike hire available in the car park.

The traffic-free clay trails are mostly tarmac or smooth stone and suitable for all level cyclists.

  • Eden to Bugle – a relatively easy 4 mile route which passes woodland and fishing lakes.
  • Eden to Wheal Martyn – a slightly more difficult 5 mile route which includes some steep slopes. Enjoy 360-degree views of St Austell Bay and the clay mines.
