Houghton Hall

Overview

The residence of Great Britain’s first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole, with magnificent interiors and award-winning walled garden.

There are a number of sculptures around the grounds, including some Henry Moore ones in the summer of 2019.

The Soldier Museum is the largest private collection of model soldiers in the world. It was started by the 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley as a school boy, and he continued collecting throughout his life, often commissioning whole scenes to his specification.
