Overview
Helmsley and Ryedale have an enviable reputation as a destination for foodies. The town’s market square is home to a wonderful selection of cafes, delicatessens, pubs and restaurants.
While within a few miles are two Michelin starred restaurants: the Star Inn at Harome and the Black Swan at Oldstead – the later was voted TripAdvisor's best fine dining restaurant in the world in 2017 and 2018. Along with Helmsley’s weekly Friday market, monthly markets are held at nearby Hovingham and Malton (Yorkshire’s food capital).
