Electric Mountain is home to the Dinorwig Power Station, set in the mountains of Snowdonia and dubbed "Britain's largest battery" this hydroelectric station houses 6 electric generators producing up to 1,000,000kWh of power daily. The unique design of this station uses a higher lake to store potential energy in the form of water, it is then released creating gravitational energy through the generators to a lower lake during peak times. When the system is not required (during the night) the generators are turned into large pumps to pump the water back up to the top reservoir, effectively "recharging" the system.
