Walking and Rambling around Poppit Sands
The start or finish of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is right here. The newly extended path is suitable for all walkers and families.
If you’re looking for a location with the wow factor, you can’t get much more wow for your money than YHA Poppit Sands. Ideal for a fabulous beach break, this hostel is located on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline in Wales.
A must for nature lovers, the hostel is set in five acres of stunning grounds, providing plenty of room for exploring during your stay. The Blue Flag beach which the hostel overlooks is occasionally visited by seals, porpoises and even bottlenose dolphins during the summer, so pack your binoculars!
Dorms are not currently available.
Dorm rooms have multiple beds and are shared with other people who may not be travelling together. They are usually more affordable than private rooms as you'll be booking a bed rather than the whole room.
A typical shared dorm room includes bunk beds, a reading light and a storage cupboard for each guest.
Children aged between 12 and 15 can stay in dorm rooms as long as an adult of the same gender accompanies them.
Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room. None of our dorm rooms have en-suite facilities.
Want some privacy? With a private room, you'll be booking the whole room for your stay.
Private rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus a wash hand basin.
Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room.
For added privacy, relax with your family, friends or by yourself in a private en-suite room.
Private en-suite rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus shower and toilet facilities solely for the people in your room.

YHA Poppit Sands started fairly modestly as Sea View Cottage and has been lovingly converted over time into one of the most attractive hostels in the network. The hostel was dedicated to Flt Lieut Robin Hugh Thomas by his parents after he was killed in action in 1944. The hostel still proudly displays a plaque at the rear entrance.
Mwnt is a favourite beach in the area. Spend a pleasant evening sat on top of the hill watching the sunset over Cardigan Island. Pods of dolphins regularly visit the Mwnt area, so if you're lucky you might spot these awesome animals on your family activity break.
