Aberglasney Gardens
Spectacularly set in the beautiful Tywi valley, Aberglasney House features one of the finest gardens in Wales.
One of YHA’s most remote hostels, YHA Llanddeusant Activty Centre is a traditional style hostel in the Black Mountain range of the Brecon Beacons. It has an informal, family feel which is boosted by a range of on and off-site outdoor activities provided by Arc Adventures.
Perfect for group and family get togethers, Llanddeusant is situated within an international dark skies area, an area of outstanding natural beauty and an international Geo-park. Facing west, The youth hostel garden, has seating and tables for meals. you can enjoy beautiful sunsets and views over Coed Pen Arthur and Tricrug across to the peak of the Black Mountain (Mynydd Du).
Hiking and biking trails lead directly from the hostel to the legendary Llyn-y-Fan glacial lake and across into one of the most stunning and remote mountain areas in the UK. The area is known for an abundance of Red Kites. Other nearby attractions include the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, and the medieval castles of Dryslwyn, and Carreg Cennen.
Dorms are not currently available.
Dorm rooms have multiple beds and are shared with other people who may not be travelling together. They are usually more affordable than private rooms as you'll be booking a bed rather than the whole room.
A typical shared dorm room includes bunk beds, a reading light and a storage cupboard for each guest.
Children aged between 12 and 15 can stay in dorm rooms as long as an adult of the same gender accompanies them.
Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room. None of our dorm rooms have en-suite facilities.
Want some privacy? With a private room, you'll be booking the whole room for your stay.
Private rooms typically include a storage cupboard and reading light for each bed, plus a wash hand basin.
Shared shower and toilet facilities are located near to the room. None of our private rooms have en-suite facilities.
Camping is sold per person and not per pitch. During the booking process, you will need to select the number of people who you wish to camp.
There is limited space for tents at YHA Llanddeusant Activity Centre and we only recommend that guests with small hiking style tents use our facilities.
Every day of the summer you can book outdoor activities through Arc Adventures. Try your hand at kayaking, climbing, caving, mountain biking, paddle-boarding, abseiling and many more.
Campers have full access to the hostel's facilities including showers, toilets, self-catering kitchen and comfy chairs in case of bad weather. Laundry facilities and towel hire are available. There is a large gas BBQ which can be used by all guests.

Manager recommends: A morning walk captures the scenery at its best. Take a stroll to the legendary Llyn-y-Fan glacial lake, followed by a welcoming lunch at the Red Kite café. Enjoy the spectacular display of Red Kites feeding in the delightful surroundings of Llanddeusant, whilst sheltering in a purpose built hide.
