Ninebanks has been a youth hostel since 1947. The hostel manager is based next door in the old blacksmith’s cottage. The team love running the youth hostel and welcoming people to experience this beautiful and peaceful part of the country.
Manager recommends: We never tire of the views – different every hour of the day! Hadrian’s Wall is always a popular visit from here, but nearer to hand is Killhope Lead Mining Museum – way more exciting than it sounds – with underground visits, a big waterwheel and shows how the intrepid miners lived years ago.
