Meet the team
Ninebanks has been a Youth Hostel since 1947 and family owned and run since 1991. We live next door in the old blacksmith’s cottage. We never tire of the views – different every hour of the day! We love running our Youth Hostel and welcoming people to experience this beautiful and peaceful part of the country.
We recommend Hadrian’s Wall is always a popular visit from here, but nearer to hand is Killhope Lead Mining Museum – way more exciting than it sounds – with underground visits, a big waterwheel and shows how the intrepid miners lived years ago.
