A former workhouse of a Benedictine Monastery dating back to the 11th Century, YHA Leominster is now a well-equipped hostel. Come and stay to embrace the history of the area. Leominster is situated in the Marches, the disputed borderlands between Wales and England, fought over for centuries.
We are at the heart of the Black and White Villages, whose style dates back to Tudor times. The walking and cycling in the area is excellent and there are several National Trust properties nearby, along with museums, visitor centres and beautiful gardens.

Meet the team
I’ve been in the network for many years and have been hostelling since I was knee high to a grasshopper. My favourite thing about YHA is the amazing locations and friendly atmosphere. And the fact that no two places are the same! I love the outdoors, hiking, rock climbing and generally enjoying the lovely scenery around the UK.
Manager recommends: After a busy day exploring, sit back, relax and enjoy the sunshine in our courtyard garden. A superb spot for a scone and a browse is The Merchant’s House, a really pretty building in the famous black and white style with an oak beamed café and antiques centre inside. A short drive away, Westonbury Mill Water Garden is the product of 15 years of loving care and attention. Described as ‘different’ and ‘unusual’, there’s something beautiful and fun around every corner. The perfect place to stop and smell the flowers.
