Activities: YHA London St Pauls will open up the doors to the public as they host their second annual Pop-up Charity Shop. Clothes, jewellery, shoes, bags and the most random of random belongings left behind by guests in 2013 or kindly donated by travellers who over-shopped on the high streets and had to leave some of their belongings behind will be available to the discerning customer. All money raised on the day goes directly to the YHA charity, Breaks for Kids, which gives bursaries to children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, when they take part in a school or community group break. We believe in provided opportunities for everyone.

YHA Cheddar

Activities: Come and join in on our activity fun day! Team based activities will be running throughout the day and will be provided by our activity partner Mendip Outdoor Pursuits. Family vs family or mixed teams will all be able to take part. All activities are free but we will have collection boxes on site for Breaks for Kids so any donations will be gratefully accepted. Free refreshments will be available and hot drinks are on sale throughout the day. Around lunchtime there will be pizza-making with the chance to buy your own pizza for your lunch.

Activities: A family day full of activities including a climbing wall, low ropes, archery and fire lighting. There will be a BBQ, cafe and the bar will be open throughout the day. The bike shop will be selling new and used bikes so come along and bag yourself a bargain. We will be holding competitions where you can win activity sessions at the Youth Hostel. There will be a dog show available to take part in and many more fun things to entertain the whole family throughout the day.

Activities: To raise awareness and funds for our amazing charity and the charitable schemes we are involved in, especially 'Breaks for Kids', we're hosting a mini festival with some amazing local bands. The awesome 8 piece dub reggae band Kernow Vibration will be headlining, with support from Forleigh, Sam Williams and the Flock of Bats, Dan Chapman and his band, Emily Howard, October, Innocent Bystanders plus Crowley's Tears. There'll also be art, children's activities and a hog roast as well as our usual fantastic menu and full bar all overlooking our beautiful bay.

Activities: Come rub shoulders with your favourite book characters. Expect anything from Harry Potter to the Queen of Hearts as our staff dress up as their literary heroes! To inspire you to join in we’ll also have a well stocked fancy dress box that’s sure to get some giggles. Bring your recent reads with you and find your new favourite book from the selection in our big, brilliant book swap & sale. Two children's authors will be joining us for the day. Pippa Goodheart, author of Winnie the Witch and You Choose and Helen Moss who created the Adventure Island and Secrets of the Tombs series of books will both be doing readings and book signings. In addition to them, we also have Anthony Rubinstein who will be doing cartoon drawing sessions. We've got something for everyone here and fun for all the family!

Activities: YHA Sheringham will be throwing open its doors for a day of fun-filled hands-on activities. The RNLI will be on hand along with Sheringham's very own Town Crier. Don't miss Stevie Spud's Circus Skills and the free Yoga sessions by Yoga Feet. The Colours and Carnivals exhibition will feature printed illustrations by Natalie Knowles based on Sheringham's weekend events.

Activities: We are hosting the Proms in the Peak, a concert in the gardens at Losehill Hall in joint association with Weston Park Cancer Charity. The line-up includes John Hudson (operatic tenor), Deborah Norman (soprano), choirs and bands. The programme includes a range of traditional prom favourites and culminates with a fireworks display. There will be tours of the Youth Hostel and refreshments available. Tickets are bookable in advance at Proms in the Peak.

Activities: Roll up roll up for a fun-packed day of old fashioned seaside stalls! Here for your entertainment, we have the Coconut Shy, Splat the Boggle, Soak a Pirate, the Amazing Zoltar telling fortunes, hunt for treasure, win a scrummy cup cake on our cake tombola, meet the coastguard, have a cup of our delicious homemade lemonade, enter the sandcastle building competition and win a super prize, and get your face painted like a pirate. A children's craft stall where you can make a lighthouse or decorate a wooden boat, our cafe is open for lovely coffees, ice creams and delicious food.

All this plus a few surprises on the day guarantees a fun-filled afternoon for all the family.

Activities: YHA Keswick's 100km Charity Cycle Sportive - this 100km ride takes in Honister Pass on its way to clocking up over 1000 metres of ascent riding along some of Lakelands little known roads. The route will be fully signed with feed stations and mechanical support along the way, There will be hot food served at the hostel for every finisher plus a goody bag which includes free YHA membership. During the day there will bw a fun day in Fitz Park. Entry to the Sportive is £20. The money raised will go to the Breaks for Kids charity which helps financially disadvantaged children take part in school trips.

Bodafon Farm will be here with their feathery friends and Cotswold Outdoor will be on hand with lots of handy outdoor tips (boot clinic, rucksack fitting and hiking tips). Let us entertain you with live music and a BBQ. We will also be offering hands-on arts and crafts and face painting for the kids. Our café will be open offering evening meals and our bar stocks local beers, house wines and soft drinks. Our volunteers will be on hand to show you around our facilities and answer all your questions. Why not book in with us to stay overnight and relax in one of our spacious family rooms after a fun filled YHA Day!

The BBNP will be on hand to supervise pond dipping and there will be appearances from Dyfed-Powys Police, the Fire Service and Welsh Water. Entry to the event is free.

Coffee, tea and cake will be provided and the neighbouring farmer will be selling local organic food. There will be lots of children’s activities during the day; a storyteller, craft activities, rock climbing and more.

If you are not able to make it, why not make a return trip if you want to know more about the amazing history of St Briavels Castle, as the following weekend, 13th and 14th September, sees the return of our annual Heritage Open Weekend when the castle comes to life with the sites and sounds of history through the ages.

Activities: YHA Stratford-upon-Avon presents The Triple B events Bikes, Bands, Breaks for Kids. The morning revs up with a charity motorbike ride leaving the Youth Hostel at 9am, led by a team of YHA Bikers. It's £10 a ticket for the bike ride and all money raised goes straight to our Breaks for Kids fund. Enjoy some of the best roads in England before heading back to the Youth Hostel to display your pride and joy. Relax and enjoy the rest of the day with lively music performances from up and coming unsigned bands, indulge in some great food and check out all the displayed bikes. You can even explore the Youth Hostel and see all that YHA has to offer. Great Fun for all the family.
