About Stour Valley Bunkhouse
Opened in 2007, and fitted with a wide range of modern facilities, underfloor heating throughout, and a wood burner (logs provided), this rural retreat is set in peaceful surroundings on an historic 1000 acre working farm in an AONB, and is an ideal base for exploring Constable Country. Close to the Stour estuary, there are excellent opportunities for birdwatching, cycling and walking virtually on the doorstep. The bunkhouse is a good base for families of all ages. There are plenty of local attractions such as Jimmy's Farm and Colchester Castle, lovely beaches, and a big garden to play in.

It is not possible to book individual beds and rooms at this hostel as it is a dedicated groups hostel that can only be booked for exclusive use
It is unsuitable for groups that are likely to be very noisy or drink heavily (no stag parties). There are 5 bedrooms, with all bedding/linen provided.

We grow potatoes, cereals and sugar beet, with cattle and sheep grazing seasonally, and conservation is at the forefront of our land management. You can enjoy the diverse range of wildlife to be found on the farm, and a huge range of migrating birds on the estuary in winter.
