By rail: Manningtree Station (London Liverpool St – Ipswich, Harwich Port). 2.4 miles, good local taxi service available, or follow directions for arrival by bike or on foot.
By Car: Our driveway is on the A137 Ipswich – Manningtree road. From Ipswich 5 miles south of A14 Junction 56. Pass The Brantham Bull public house on the left hand side, over the narrow railway bridge, and turn left after 200 yards through white gates set back in the trees. Follow the driveway to the crossroads, turn left and the bunkhouse is on the edge of the farmyard.
From Colchester. Take the B1070 (A12 Junction 31), continue until it meets the A137, turn right towards Ipswich for just over 1 mile, our white gates are on the right hand side. Continue as above.
Please be aware if using a satnav that there are two lanes on the same postcode – we are on The Chase.
By bike or on foot: From Manningtree.
Take the A137 towards Ipswich, cross the river into Suffolk and continue until reaching the village. Leave the A137 and cut through to the right over the old brick bridge to meet Factory Lane by the garage. Turn right. Continue to the end of the road and follow through the right hand side of the car park. Follow the path signed to Fishing Lake, then follow signed bridleway beside the railway. Cross the railway line at the top of the hill using the footbridge, then take the bridlepath along the other side. By the first house you come to continue along the road rather than the bridlepath, and the bunkhouse is straight ahead on the edge of the farmyard.
Alternatively, follow the instructions for arriving by car from the B1080/A137 junction – this avoids the bridlepath but adds a steep hill and about an extra mile. From Ipswich.
Follow the instructions for arriving by car.
By public transport: Local bus service to Brantham Bull (3/4 mile), 2 hourly during the day but not 7 days a week.
The nearest coach stop is in Capel St Mary, 2.78 miles away.
