Description:
Sample the most arresting sights and attractions of ‘Constable Country’ from this brand new bunkhouse, which has activities for all on the doorstep. The newly-constructed wooden building is based on an historic 1,000-acre, working farm, near Manningtree, and is fitted with a fine range of modern facilities. It’s based on the estuary of the Stour, the valley in which John Constable was born and where many of his most famous works were created. Most of these are within easy walking distance or there’s also some excellent opportunities for sailing, windsurfing, horse-riding or bird-watching virtually on the doorstep. YHA Stour Valley Bunkhouse is self-catering only but there are shops nearby or a village pub offering good food.

Accommodating lone guests with sight/hearing/mobility impairments - evacuation in an emergency - Stour Valley is equiped to accommodate most persons, where they are travelling with a companion who would be able to assist in emergency evacuation.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate those who would need assistance in an emergency, but who travel without a companion, as there is no residential member of staff.
A current YHA membership card or relevant ID will required during check in.
Unaccompanied children aged 16 and 17 must ring YHA Stour Valley before booking to ensure suitable accommodation is available. Under YHA policy it is not possible for unaccompanied 16 and 17 year olds to stay in single sex dormitory rooms with other guests, or to share private rooms when not of the same sex.
Brantham Hall is a busy working farm and the farmyard is closed to visitors for health and safety reasons. Children must be supervised at all times and not play outside the fenced bunkhouse garden.
