Learning Away launch #BrilliantResidentials campaign to ensure more young people develop brilliant lives

Through its action research, spanning five years, the Learning Away programme developed 10 guiding principles which can transform residentials into highly effective, brilliant residentials. These principles include: residentials being led by teachers; co-designed with students; fully integrated into the curriculum; and affordable for all. If delivered in this way, residentials can have a huge impact on schools, teachers and on children and young people of all ages, improving their: resilience; achievement; relationships; and engagement with learning.

Museums at Night 2014 - #voteberwick

Berwick Visual Arts has been nominated for the annual Museums at Night Connect 10 competition.

We are one of 4 venues in the country with the chance to win £2000 in funding and the help of internationally renowned artist Alex Hartley to create a very special event at Berwick Gymnasium Gallery for Museums at Night in May 2014.

Alex Hartley's work addresses complicated and sometimes contradictory attitudes toward the built and natural environments and he is perhaps best known for Nowhere Island.

YHA Oxford Street Number One

YHA London Oxford Street does it again and is the top hostel in England.

Customer ratings for the hostel in Soho soared sky high after a five month, £1.4 million renovation and refurbishment which set the hostel's feet back on solid ground.

Since the refurbishment and reopening of YHA London Oxford Street in March 2011, it has been ranked the No.1 hostel in England three times and No.2 hostel two times and has broken the 50,000th booking since 1991 as well.
