It’s a convenient base from which to explore the southern Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. Kendal itself has many attractions to keep all the family entertained, including the castle ruins. Explore further afield and you’ll find the National Trust’s Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its famous topiary gardens.
