About Honister Hause
A must for dedicated walkers! This former quarry workers' house, at the summit of Honister Pass, is in true mountain country with easy access to England’s highest peaks. Steep valleys stretch down from the mountains to Derwentwater to create a beautiful and distinctive landscape. There’s a 400 year old working slate mine next door. After your day on the mountains, relax and enjoy a good meal in our licensed restaurant.

The Youth Hostel is situated next to the working Honister Slate Mine, but this is a great place to visit as part of your trip.
