YHABorth

We were met with a warm and informative welcome and our room had been changed to one with a sea view! This hostel was clean and tidy and we had a really enjoyable weekend visiting our son at Uni. Ample parking around the back and to the front by the sea. We're planning on staying again.

We did not like our stay at YHA Borth. The staff was rude. In the advertisement and on booking.com it said that there is a car park whereas when we got there, there was almost no space. We parked in the corner next to the building. When I went to the car the manager stopped me and asked whether the car is mine. He was very rude and unpleasant, he shouted at me that I am not allowed to park there. I have asked so where can I park the car, he said opposite the building, next to the beach, I said that this is public car park and it is unsafe and I have booked the hostel that has private car park. He said that he does not care. We decided not to fight with him, we parked on the public car park, I said that he suppose to behave appropriately as he is the manager, he should take care of his guests. The rooms were filthy, dusty, windows were dirty, there were a lot of birds poo, shower doors were broken and did not close. On booking.com it said that in our room there will be 2 sofas for 2 people, instead there were two bunk beds.The shower did not work properly, the water did not flow, the pressure was really weak. That was the worst accommodation we stayed in. We have chosen it because we decided to go to Borth in the last minute. But this was our worst decision. We expected the facilities that were on booking.com because there we have booked the hostel, but we did not and we are very unsatisfied. The room was not worth the money we paid for.

I had a couple of meals which I really enjoyed, and the managers/reception staff were really helpful. I felt quite at home. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.
