With a warm friendly atmosphere, comfortable accommodation and all day access, this is an ideal base to spend a few days whilst exploring the many attractions of South Lakeland.  Enjoy the breathtaking views from the hostel terrace and explore the large wooded grounds with Woodland Trails and abundant wildlife. There is a range of indoor and outdoor activities for children. For a completely relaxing break try the excellent meals on offer, from hearty dinners to an extensive buffet breakfast and picnic lunches. All food is freshly cooked using locally sourced ingredients and regional specialities wherever possible. Special meals can be arranged for special occasions and there is an attractive bar area serving wines and local beers.             In the area, enjoy beautiful local walks, hire a bike, try some watersports, visit the nearby National Park Visitor Centre, take a leisurely cruise on England’s largest natural lake, visit one of the many local attractions, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning countryside.

YHA Windermere is 2 miles outside Windermere in a countryside location. The hostel has been awarded the Responsible Tourism award in recognition of its commitment to the environment. Outdoor Activity breaks can be arranged for groups of 6 or more (suitable for families), and recreational/educational packages are available to schools and groups through www.yhaschooltrips.co.uk
