Set in an unrivaled location above Buttermere, YHA Buttermere is a fantastic slate building with great views of the surrounding mountains and lake. If you’re visiting the Lake District in high summer, Buttermere offers a quieter corner for families and walkers wanting to relax and explore this beautiful area. Walks for all levels of experience start from the doorstep, Haystacks is just one of the famous fells easily reached from Buttermere. Afterwards, unwind in the lounge with views of Red Pike and High Stile then enjoy a fantastic meal in our restaurant along with local ales and wines. Red Squirrels and Woodpeckers can often be seen in the grounds.
