Refurbished to a high standard in 2009, this former quarry workers’ building is in a spectacular setting at the summit of Honister Pass, a high-level route connecting the valleys of Borrowdale and Buttermere. This true mountain accommodation provides easy access to the famous high peaks of Central Lakeland - Scafell, Great Gable, Pillar, Red Pike and Dale Head, as well as many other classic walking routes. Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meals are available.

Honister is a very small and quiet hostel which makes a great base for getting up onto the surrounding ridges.

Stayed here 3 nights, what a great base for walking. Dale Head which is a straight walk up the hill will give you an incredible mountain and valley view within an hour! And to correct the last review...
