Welcome to Britain’s finest adventure playground for outdoor people. Kielder Forest has over 110km of varying grade cycle trails and walking galore and for wildlife enthusiasts there are around 10,000 red squirrels and great birdwatching sites. Kielder Castle offers a tricky maze to complete and quiet woodland walks. And then there’s Kielder Water, where you can try your hand at just about any watersport. After all that, you’ll appreciate a rest at the hostel, which offers accommodation of a very high standard.

Need to know:
Kielder is the most remote village in England. There is a village store with banking facilities open normal shop hours. The nearest supermarket and bank is 17 miles away.
