New Coleridge Way website leads the way

New Coleridge Way website leads the way

A new website promoting the Coleridge Way has been launched at www.coleridgeway.co.uk. The redeveloped site is based on the very successful new Visit Exmoor website launched at the end of last year. It is managed by Exmoor Tourism which was formed recently, bringing together the key work of the Exmoor Tourist Association and the former Exmoor Tourism Partnership.

50 years of the Pennine Way

50 years of the Pennine Way

Happy Birthday to the Pennine Way - it's 50 years old today! The very first National Trail remains one of the most spectacular and well-loved of all the trails and it still attracts hundreds of thousands of people every year. Starting at Edale and ending at Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish Border, it stretches for 268 miles and can take around 16-19 days to walk in full.

Brighton opens new cycle hub

Brighton station’s £1.5m, 500 space cycle hub was formally opened on 26th March 2015 by Rail Minister, Baroness Kramer.

The new hub, which is situated at the rear of the station, provides 500 secure cycle parking spaces and much, much more than somewhere to park the bike for both Southern passengers and non-rail travellers alike.

Also at the hub on the ground floor are a cycle repair/maintenance workshop and a coffee shop for those in need of refreshment after a hard cycle to the station.

The best bonfires

The best bonfires

20th October 2014

Remember, remember the fifth of November

Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night is a tradition that dates back to 1605. Guy Fawkes was one of 13 Catholic conspirators who plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament as an act of rebellion against the Protestant government.

The group placed 36 barrels of gunpowder in a cellar under the House of Lords. But a few of the plotters began to have second thoughts and sent an anonymous warning letter to Lord Monteagle.
